Excellent place to stay

Booked a last minute break and everything went smoothly - no problems at all, owner very friendly and helpful. The cottage has character, efficient heating and a huge garden. Good walks nearby and beaches are an easy drive away. Even the mixed weather didn't spoil things.

Excellent accommodation and very helpful owners

Booked at the last minute. Though I got it booked during the Christmas time, I would say the rates were still nominal. Never thought will get such a nice and lovely place to stay. Rather saying it as difficult, I would say it was thrilling to reach the cottage. Reached there too late in the night so couldn't find the way. Thanks to Kay who helped us find the way home. She was so nice despite calling her so late at night. The location and the surrounding are exceptionally good and would definitely like to go there again. Would definitely recommend people to stay there. Hats off to Paul and Kay (the owners) for such nice maintenance.

Perfect peaceful get away ! Dont let this one pass you by !

We booked this property last minute as a quick peaceful get away was needed due to work stresses etc... The booking process was simple and the owners then contacted me to ensure I had all the correct information, key pick up and directions. Paul was extremely helpful and only ever a phone call away. When we arrived we were blown away by the beautiful location of the property, the property has a breath taking garden with swing, benches and many little hide away's for children to get away and explore. Outside the front door there is a lovely little stream, I loved sitting out there in the morning having my cup of tea and listening to the trickle of the stream and looking at the stunning views. Pictures of the property don’t do it justice you need to see this property to understand its charm and appeal. My son who is 9 is an Xbox nut and we thought he would moan all holiday about not having anything to do, every morning he got up and went straight to play in the garden, building dens and playing on the swing, I was amazed not once did I hear Mum I’m Bored!! ! ! The property has a cosy little sitting room with a wood burner (which I loved) and a beautiful large dining area to share lovely family meals. Not far (15 mins) is Nefyn beach and this is a must visit, the beach is beautiful! Please if you want peace, family time, seclusion and peace FO mind visit upper lodge!! Many thanks to Paul for a relaxing stay in his beautiful property.

Fantastic cottage for a perfect Welsh stay!

Right from booking the property we were given clear and useful information from the owners. Getting there was relatively easy with the detailed directions provided, and the keypad actually felt more secure than collecting a key. We chose the Upper Lodge for it's secluded location (as a band planning to rehearse and compose music while visiting, this was essential) and were literally blown away on arrival - it could not have been a more beautiful and characterful cottage in such a lovely little clearing! We experienced fantastic weather and made full use of the garden (eating breakfast out on the picnic table and sitting at the back of the garden with the large swing), as well as travelling to nearby abersoch to enjoy the beach (again, completely unspoiled and picturesque). We were a group of 4 and comfortably shared the building, and especially enjoyed the ample dining space and sitting room (complete with wood-burning fire!). It was very well-equipped and furnished in a homely manner (unlike a lot of other scarcely-furnished holiday apartments), and there was nothing that wewanted or felt wasn't provided. However do remember to take bottled water! It was easy to get dehydrated out in the sun all day and the tap water isn't drinkable. We are already keen to return next year and I could not fault this great little holiday home nor the owners.

Down a dale in Cymru

Just back from this Middle Earth lodge. Feels Gandalf could come stooping through door at any moment, attracted by the woodsmoke from solid fuel stove. No orcs in vicinity, in fact, we never saw another soul for three days. We were lucky with weather, as three years ago we would have been ankle deep in snow. But, it is so sheltered; winds may howl; they are not felt in this deep dale. Your teenagers will be fighting over The Snug. Read the instructions teenagers! Hot water is not on demand! You have to make it happen. This is a lovingly-created 'old lodge' experience. This place has been here for over 100 years. Bring an axe and a lump hammer if you are here outside of Summer...to cut your own logs. The walk up Garth Boduan is inviting, but should not be attempted by kids -12. Vertiginous. Walk around Mynidd Nefyn is better day. Turn right at top of lane..without car, I mean. Awesome Bilbo Baggins house. You will grow hair on your feet.
