Beautiful Cottage, excellent location, home from home

My husband and I stayed at Glen View Cottage with our 2 small dogs for a week beginning of May. We were very lucky with the weather, which was a bonus. The cottage was beautiful, amazing location, everything you could want for in the cottage was there. The garden was lovely, overlooking beautiful countryside and was very quiet. Julia and John(the owners) were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble! The Bear pub at Rodborough was within walking distance, had a lovely garden and great food. The Lodge was also another great place to eat. The dogs had a wail of a time, there were absolutely shattered every day with the long walks! Everywhere we went was very dog friendly which was great. Would definately recommend and will be returning!

Without Doubt - Excellent!

Glen View Cottage is without doubt excellent, warm and very comfortable accommodation with plenty of room and bathrooms for all. We stayed with friends plus two dogs to have few days r and r together with attending a family funeral. It's a cottage that gives you a hug - whatever. And, a great place to explore local towns and villages. Although I/we could not give this cottage anymore than a ten out of ten - we would draw your attention to where it is situated. You have to cross a track to get to the property, which we now understand belongs to The National Trust. It is a short approach - however we are talking November- found wet and very slippery. Very tricky if u don't own a 4 by 4 vehicle. We would have brought readers attention to this anyway - but to say - yesterday this track caused us to have a accident yesterday.. We okay, but car will cost us more than a few pounds to look pretty again. So perhaps what I am saying is, lovely cottage shame about the approach. Would we visit again, sorry to say , no.
