We decided to have one last family holiday together so needed a large house that would take dogs. This house looked ok on the site so we decided to book. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who showed us around the house and was on hand for anything we needed. We were amazed by the size of the house and the beautiful surroundings. We knew it was near a lorry park and was prepared for some noise but heard nothing. The house was equipped with everything we needed and was nearly a home from home apart from the fact it was better than my house :-). the grounds were beautiful and the dogs could run freely and safely. There is a Tesco and an Home Bargains in Lockerbie itself which always had what we needed. It was not far from relatives we wanted to visit in Lesmahagow and places like Moffat which is a beautiful place that I hadn't visited since I was a child. There are plenty of places to visit whether you enjoy shopping, visiting old buildings or just walking. You can also sit and relax in the beautiful, well kept garden. I would definitely recommend this accomodation to friends and would love to return ourselves again one day.
We were attending an event in Dumfries and this was one of the few places that would accommodate 6 of us without using bedsettees etc. It was ideal, we had plenty of room, every convenience and even a 24 hour transport cafe on the doorstep. Although this is the site of a lorry park we had no noise at all..The only slight problem was the downstairs toilet which had a very temperamental flush. Upstairs there was an en-suite and a family bathroom. Twin bedroom downstairs and a twin and double upstairs. The drive to Dumfries was easy and only took about 25 minutes. Hoping to book again for the same event in 2017.
Spent 3 nights here with a group of friends for the new year. The house is an excellent size and has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Bedrooms were large with comfortable beds. The only complaint I would make, and I have to say it's not really a complaint, but a personal gripe, the quilts were very heavy and felt like kingsize quilts pushed into double size covers. As I said, not really a complaint, but could put lighter quilts in and maybe leave some blankets if anyone needs them. This aside, all the facilities were a good standard and we had enough of everything to put on a three course meal for 8 people on new years day. The house is right next to Lockerbie Lorry park, however, we did not experience any noise or disturbance. there is also plenty of parking for people staying in the cottages. The cafe on sight does an excellent breakfast choice which is great value for money. I would definitely recommend Partridge House and would return in the future.
