The property was immaculately maintained and all linens and towels etcetera of an exceptional quality. The huge proportions of the lounge and the large sofas , sea view and quiet location were very relaxing. The garden terraces and patio furniture sets (note plural) were thoughtfully placed so that both sunny mornings and evenings could be enjoyed outside. The harbour and sea views from the front of the house are amazing - we could see all the way to Ireland! The beds were very comfortable and the power-shower in the master was larger and better than many 4-5* luxury hotel showers I have used around the world. The huge kitchen with induction hob, two ovens and two completely separate sinks was complete with every culinary aid we needed to feed a hungry family - all the usual holiday suspect items were placed in easy to spot areas - corkscrews, can openers, salad and pasta strainers etc. A very thoughtful layout. The friendly local keyholders arrived very promptly after we did and were warm, friendly and immediately made us feel welcome - the heating came on quickly and was simple to operate. The coat hangers in the hall cupboard were a small but very thoughtful touch which was the essence of how the property worked to make us feel comforted and helped even an outdoorsaphobe such as myself enjoy long walks in the local area because I knew I was coming back to a sanctuary of luxurious comfort. We would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone who would like to experience fishing village life in a dramatic coastline area with luxurious creature comforts in the evenings.
Just spent a week in this fantastic cottage. It was so large the photos don't do it justice we loved every minute of it with 3 massive bedrooms all with beautiful views, 2 at the front with sea views and the en-suite bedroom with views of the patio. Both bathrooms had power showers and a bath in one. The lounge also looked out over the sea and watching the sun setting each night was magnificent. Even if you aren't a bird watcher you can't help but enjoy the sights and sounds of them in this tranquil place. There are a few places to eat in Port William but Stranraer and Newton Stewart are only 30 minutes away to stock up on food if you want to make use of the large kitchen and dining areas, yes there are 2. Worth a trip up the road to The Cock Inn for a meal if you want to go out but not too far. Situated in an ideal place for the views and touring the area. Would recommend it for any age including disabled, although the property is situated up a slight bank the property itself is all level and easy to access.
