All home comforts, great character and idyllic location.

Where are you going you wonder as you climb the track over 2 fields to this secluded property? Then you arrive at the homely, farm house look of Ty Mawr Hill. The location and views from this elevated position are stunning and the peace and quiet are only broken by the sheep and cattle in the surrounding fields. Inside you are greeted with all the home comforts you would expect without losing the character of this old property, a new fitted kitchen and useful utility, a very comfortable lounge and seperate dining room. The bedrooms are spacious and give fabulous views to the front of the house. The owners are very welcoming and actively farm all the ground that surrounds you. We wouldn't hesitate to use this property again or recommend it to family and friends.

Amazing place, especially for children.

We have just arrived home form an amazing weekend at this property. Our sat nav got us a little lost but the directions included in the booking were spot on. We drove through the first gate to the house to be met by the most idyllic farm drive and the stunning house sat on top of the hill just like a child's drawing might depict. My children were in awe at the single, steep farm track that covers two fields and three gates that need opening and shutting, they also made friends with the live stock and wanted to be wandering the drive the whole weekend. We were met by the owner who was friendly, showed us around and left us some amazing home made biscuits. The house was clean, comfortable and cosy once we had worked out the heating controls. We had two adults, a teenager, three children and an infant. We were comfortable in the spacious bedrooms, the beds were comfy, plenty of wardrobe space and enough room in the master for a travel cot. The kitchen facilities had everything we needed, a very welcome boot room and handy washer and dryer. Even though the house was heated well the open fire was very appealing in December after a day outside, you can buy everything for it at the garden centre opposite the property once you have run out of the provided stock. The drive is large enough for a few cars and although daunting the track up to the house is easy enough in the dark. Our children adored the location, they were fully occupied by the exploration the farmland lends itself to, especially the hollow trees and stream. The views were idyllic and although the property is secluded on a hill you are minutes walk away from the garden and craft centre with a cafe, food and gifts for sale and a little park/animal petting area. An adequate Chinese take away and Co-op convenience store is in Usk town centre 5 mins drive away and we felt located in a good base to explore South Wales. Being on a hill and sharing water supply with live stock meant that the water pressure was low but this was a small and understandable price to pay for residing here. Our only gripe is we didn't book for longer and I think my children are disappointed in our house now!
