The owner was extremely welcoming and accommodating and had given very useful printed advice for use of services within the house and amenities in the area. The provision of kitchen ware, crockery and glassware was excellent and a nice touch was hairdriers in all the bedrooms. Everywhere was very clean and bright and nicely decorated, but not intimidating! The setting in the heart of Wootton-under-Edge was ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and one highlight for us was the excellent playroom for our 2 grandaughters aged 3 and 5.
Stayed at Chipping House for one week in early September. Family joined us for first weekend - which ranged from 2year old to 70 year old. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The property is very well maintained, very well equiped and very well placed within the lovely village. Chipping House was immaculate and very homely. We also met the owner who is a lovely lady. We had friends join us for the rest of the week and again they were very impressed. Will definitely been returning to Chipping House and have no hesitation in recommending this property. Skyes Cottages also did a very good job with all the admin.
Pack of tea/coffee biscuits and milk very welcome on arrival. Comfortable and clean throughout and very well enquiped especially the kitchen. Brilliant for children, lots to do in and out of the house, so many lovely touches like a sandpit to keep the little ones happy. Plenty of bathrooms so no queueing. The house was big enough for everyone to find a quiet corner and have their own space. Although comfortable the house was very homely. Quiet location but close to town and shops. Take aways but town lacks restaurants only one Indian and one pub serving food. Travelling throughout the Cotswold is a pleasure and driving was a pleasure, we visited so many amazing places and the brochures and guides supplied by the owners were a great help. We used the wi-fi to great affect to find county highlights. A brilliant base for families and friends.
The house was excellent for a 3-generation holiday - 8 of us. Realizing short of wine 10 mins before dinner was not a problem - quick run to the Co-op! Loved the Hostess trolley and the bell to get everyone down to meals. Thought the family aspect was great - "home from home" and entirely appropriate for a comfortable week away. The cinema 2 mins away was a godsend for a wet summer afternoon, and the garden/bbq wonderful for the dry evenings!
We Hire the house for a wedding we were attending locally the accomodation was perfect For Myself my wife & four Daughter & Partners & Children
10 of us went to Chipping House to celebrate two 50th birthdays. The house was ideal for this purpose - lots of room, masses of crockery, glasses, books, games etc, an excellent village location in a lovely part of the world.
