Amazing Location

Stayed at Wisteria Cottage in August 2014 , fabulous cottage very spacious , views are amazing. Really well equipped cottage - every thing you use at home you will find here - the family that own these cottages have thought of everything , wonderfully equipped. Some lovely little touches . Located about 20 mins drive from Kingsbridge which is the nearest main town. Beautiful local beaches Hallsands and Beesands . We took our two small dogs on this holiday , The Cricket Arms at Beesands allow dogs inside and the Ring O Bells in West Alvington plus lots more pubs. The roads take time to get used to but after a couple of days you'll be wizzing around them. WIFI a bit hit and miss but I think this depends on the weather. You will not be disappointed with this cottage, beautiful gardens and interior.

Wisteria Cottage near Kingsbridge

This is an absolutely lovely holiday cottage, spacious, spotlessly clean and cosy and very very comfortable. Also in comparison to where we used to go in Cornwall, very reasonably priced at this time of year. Even in winter, low season, with some good lashing storms and very high winds, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hideaway, peaceful holiday home. The owners had obviously put a lot of thought into their guests comfort and ease by supplying lots of little essentials e.g. tinfoil, clingfilm, doggy bags, dog bowl, matches, kindling and firewood for the first night, (also further firewood available on site for a modest fee) toilet rolls, air freshener and bathroom cleaner etc - pity I hadn't realised before we got there and had Waitrose deliver a load of similar items, but hey ho! we live and learn! Going on holiday at this time of year (our doggy holiday by the sea - an annual event), of course means we always take our wellies and expect the worst type of weather. There's a steep, very muddy track down to the little cove approx 1/2 mile each way which was an ideal spot for the mutt to get her daily swim, bit of a treck back up the hill though. Whilst there, we visited the Cricketer at Beesands, which provided us with a really warm welcome and a sublime cooked meal - highly recommend a visit if you're down that way. Whilst I cannot fault the cottage in any way, shape, or form (it really was beautiful and peaceful), sadly.....for us never having been to this part of Devon before, the roads were a real trial and source of stress. For this reason and I emphisise - this reason alone, we will not be going back to this wonderful holiday home...I do say this with more than a tinge of regret, since otherwise I could not fault the place in any way.
