Heavenly country escape - idyllic country cottage surrounded by

Our family loved our week at this cottage. The house is perfect for a family of up to 7 and our 3 kids aged 3,3 and 8 loved every minute! Great snug with tv/DVD, lounge with fireplace, sunny conservatory with foosball/games and treadmill. Highlight was the hot tub, the views and a personal tour of the free range chicken farm! Kids could run free in safety and a week felt like much longer as we all totally chilled our. Frances was amazing - her attention to detail impeccable and we arrived to find the dinner table laid and the fridge stocked with eggs, milk, butter, fresh bread and fresh baked cakes! We will be returning!

Lovely cottage in picturesque location

We stayed here over the Christmas period and were made to feel very welcome by the owners. There was a small welcome pack on arrival and a warming log fire in the lounge. The cottage is well equipped for a large group with 5 TV's, ample kitchen utensils, a selection of games in the conservatory and a hot tub that we made good use of even in the wind and rain. The cottage is located on a large working farm with views across the valley and a lovely village pub about 20 minutes walk away (don't forget your torch). We also enjoyed a tour of the farm during our stay. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful break away from the crowds but with plenty of things to do in the area, and we hope to return again in the future.

Just perfect

We have just returned from a wonderful week's holiday at the Lodge. The house is beautiful and is set in it's own fenced garden within the fields of a working farm. Close by is one of the hen sheds and every morning our children were so excited to wake up and see the chickens running around the fields and in the garden! When we arrived we found a lovely welcome pack waiting for us with eggs, milk, bread and welsh cakes which was a wonderful touch. The house is well equipped with everything you could need and there is plenty of space for storing wellies, coats etc. The living room is very comfortable and has a lovely view across the fields. We took full advantage of the fabulous hot tub and on our last evening the sky was so clear we were sat in the hot tub watching the shooting stars. We would highly recommend asking to do a farm tour. We had a fabulous time driving around with Mr Jones in his landrover and learning about the history of the farm and seeing all the animals. There is loads to do in the surrounding area. Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader and Newtown are all within a half hour drive. If you fancy going further afield the coast at Barmouth or Aberystwyth and the National Showcaves (Dan-Yr-Ogor) are within 1.5 hour's drive. We would also recommend The New Inn pub where we had a lovely meal, which is just around the corner from the house. Thank you Lynda and family for a fabulous stay. We will definitely be back!
