Central Scotland
Central Scotland, also known as the Scottish Midlands, lies between the Highlands to the north and the Southern Uplands. This is the most densely populated area of Scotland as it encompasses both Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as the famous towns of Stirling and Dundee.
Stirling is the place to visit for all you history buffs. Situated where the highlands meet the lowlands, Stirling is one of Scotland's oldest towns. Innumerable battles have been fought here and thrilling stories abound starring Scottish heroes Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. With beauty and history to spare, Stirling is the perfect holiday cottage base for exploring Scotland.
