The Cider House comfortably sleeps 2 people.
The Cider House was converted recently to provide delightful accommodation for two. The open-plan layout has a modern fitted kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, electric cooker and hob, microwave and coffee maker. adjacent is the dining area, and beyond this the living area with a matching sofa and armchair. Here is the tv, dvd player and radio. Underfloor heating under the newly laid stone floor brings a touch of luxury.
Upstairs is the 25 foot long bedroom with antique king sized brass bed, dressing table, large walk-in wardrobe, and en-suite bathroom with roll top bath. The window in the bedroom is an old 'owl hole' oval window typical of Herefordshire barns, and is quite charming. The first floor is heated with radiators.
The attention to detail and finish throughout the cottage is obvious and many guests have commented on the beautiful lighting throughout.
A cot and high chair are available to guests.
The Cider House is set in the ten acres of Old King Street Farm, a working llama farm in the Welsh Marches. Guests are welcome to take a llama trek with the charming, delightful and inquisitive llamas during their stay. They may also feel free to stroll around the orchard, paddocks, woodlands, lake and next to the stream.
The cottage is situated a genuine half mile from the village of Ewyas Harold. The village has a good village shop / post office, a separate butchers, two pubs - both do food, and a fish and chip shop. It is a good base for exploring South West Herefordshire and its Golden Valley which stretches up to book town of Hay-on-Wye, or for visiting Hereford with the Mappa Mundi and chained library in the Cathedral. Guests may choose to explore the Black Mountains and the further Brecon Beacons - excellent rambling - or take a trip in a day-hire boat on the Brecon Canal.
