When you are out and about in this area walking and exploring you will find stunning views along the coastal path and wooded routes to the nearby village of Saundersfoot. Other great outdoor activities in Tenby and Pembrokeshire include climbing surfing, kite surfing, horse riding and sailing.

From the harbour, weather permitting you can take a boat trip to the tranquil Island of Caldey, which has been occupied by various orders of monks over the years. The Cistercian order still lives in the Abbey which is a short walk from the landing stage. The Island is also renowned for its wildlife including Atlantic grey seals which can be spotted from the cliff paths.

There are attractive Georgian houses on the cliffs, a Norman Castle and some original medieval town walls which hide a maze of little cobbled streets with unusual shops and fantastic places to eat and drinks.

The Tudor Merchant House on Quay Hill in a narrow cobbled alley overlooking the harbour, is owned by the National Trust. Visit the house and experience how the merchant’s family lived and how it would have looked back in the 1500’s, it is the oldest house in Tenby. The merchant traded in vinegar, sea coal and spice.

The glorious Carew Castle has history dating back over the last 2000 years. The castle is set in a spectacular location, looking over the mill pond. You can take a leisurely stroll through the grounds and enjoy a picnic whilst sitting viewing the castle and the surrounding countryside.

Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is the oldest self-governing museum in Wales, its history of the town, gives visitors and local people a sense of place and heritage, telling a wonderful story of times gone by.
