MIDDLE COTTAGE is situated on a quiet lane which leads out of the village of Westleton towards Minsmere and the coast. The village is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty about two-and-a-half miles from the sea at Dunwich. It has a large green, a duckpond, a thirteenth-century thatched parish church, two pubs and a restaurant. It also has a thriving village shop and post office just opposite one of the best second-hand bookshops in the area.

The cottage itself is light and airy and in an exceptionally quiet location. Built originally in 1840, it has been painstakingly renovated, with many of the original features, including the fragmented flint front and the crooked fireplace beam, carefully preserved. The interior is well thought out, elegant and stylish. The south-facing conservatory/dining-room can be sunny and warm even in winter and is the ideal place for lingering over meals.

The English Tourist Board has consistently awarded the cottage four stars, indicating that it has 'Ample space and good quality furniture', 'Excellent overall level of quality' and that 'Very good care and attention to detail will be obvious throughout'.

FROM THE VISITORS' BOOK

"We have had a wonderful week here. The cottage is excellent - so well and generously equipped. Everything was here. We especially enjoyed using the high patio, and also being able to go through the garden gate straight on to the common - perfect... This is a wonderful part of the country - we will be back".
A & A, Wiltshire, March 2007

"Middle Cottage is lovely, cosy and spotless, set in a fantastic location with Minsmere just down the road".
T, M & B, Surrey, 2005

"Looking for something in almost any room revealed strata of good provision, inspired planning and thoughtfulness previously believed to be extinct. We loved it."
P & A, Brighton, 2005

"Middle Cottage rocks! It's a lovely place in a perfect spot."
S & L. London, 2005
