This charming village can be extremely busy with holiday makers during certain times of the year, so ensure you book your seaside family holiday cottage well in advance of your stay.

The village is filled with quaint white washed fisherman cottages and traditional granite, slate fronted Cornish Cottage, which can be reached by the warren of ‘smugglers; alleyways. The picturesque harbour and sandy beach is a hub for tourists, whether you are relaxing and enjoying the sun with your bucket and spade or strolling through the rock pools, it is the perfect holiday destination.  

You may recognise the steep, narrow winding streets, some not passable by car and lovely harbour, as this village is where ‘Doc Martin’ the television series is filmed.

The Monkey Sanctuary (Only open during the Summer Months, check their website). This sanctuary rescues different monkey species from the UK and worldwide primate pet business. Visitors will receive an insight into this functioning sanctuary and a chance to meet the monkey keepers. There are also wildlife gardens, children activity centre, workshops and cafe with picnic area.

Near the harbour in Mevagissey you will find the World of Model Railways. This exhibit with over thirty trains which travel through diverse landscapes including towns, seaside and Alpine scenes. Interactive amenities allow the visitors to add light and sound to a range of parts of the display, bringing models and sites to life.

The British Cycling Museum which is situated in an old Victorian Railway Station, with a display of over four hundred different bicycles and an old bike repair shop. You will also find cycling memorabilia, pictures and ceramics, documenting cycling from 1881. (Open Sunday to Thursday each week).

The impressive setting of Tintagel, which is nestled on the top of rugged cliffs with spectacular views of the coast and countryside, is a wonderful place to book a self catering holiday cottage. There are golden sandy beaches nearby and the coastal path runs through the village and stretches for 9 miles to Boscastle. The local facilities consist of cafes, restaurants and cosy pubs.

Polzeath is a fantastic small seaside village with a very popular beach for all age groups and is renowned as a surfing destination. A holiday cottage here will be a real treat and the incredible views and scenery will inspire you. There are lots of beaches in this area which are suitable for families or swimmer / surfers.
