The farm is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of the North Yorkshire moors in Ryedale with many farmyard animals including goats (Disc the biggest billy you are likely to see!), poultry, pet Dexter cattle (a bull who thinks he's a horse!),coloured horses, Haflinger & Appaloosa horses, pot-bellied pig, friendly farm cats and dogs, ewes and lambs. Pets are welcome and we have a farm walk with abundant wildlife including foxes hares, deer, curlews, partridge, herons, skylarks and pheasants and a chance to see green energy being grown - our short coppice willows. Some of the buildings on the farm are up to 300 years old and swallows return to them each year flying in and out of the buildings all summer long. The farm has an environmental friendly policy to encourage wildlife and our animals graze on land that is free from chemical sprays and fertilisers. Our newly installed wind turbine provides most of our electricity exporting the surplus to the grid. This is a well designed pine lodge sleeping 4 people with two bedrooms, one double and one twin, making it ideal for families or for two couples sharing

The central living space incorporates kitchen (including microwave, fridge, washer/dryer and full sized cooker ), dining area with pine table and chairs and large living area equipped with two sofas; a remote control LCD TV with free view and DVD player, wood burning stove  and direct access to the veranda. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and dressing tables The double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower and heated towel rail; the main bathroom has a bath with shower and heated towel rail. The lodge is double glazed throughout and has electric panel heating and  a wood burnng stove in the living area. Outside there is a large veranda with garden furniture and plenty of off road parking. Prices include electricity & linen (including towels). Well-behaved pets welcome: no charge  The farm is ideally situated for touring Ryedale, the North Yorkshire Moors, the East Coast and the city of York. The area also boasts a good selection of pubs serving high quality food.

Yorkshire

Yorkshire was once only a part of a larger region known as Yorkshire and Humberside, which made up the North East of England. Although still occasionally used to describe this large area, Yorkshire has now not only become a region in its own right, it is also one of the largest counties in the UK. Stretching from the vast moorlands and fells of the Yorkshire Dales to the stunning coastlines of East Yorkshire, and from the top of the Peak District in the South to the dramatic North Yorkshire Moors the region really does have it all.

With nature being generous to the area, it has a total of three National Parks and two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty; it is hardly surprising that it is known by many as ‘God’s own country’. The magnificent landscapes, assorted with limestone geology, vast heather moorlands, English rural communities, sea fronts, and cliff edges, have captured the imagination of people coming here and encouraged them to return year after year.
