Advertising your holiday home with Web Cottages really is risk-free. It’s 100% free to list your property with us and the only time you ever pay is if we get you a booking – and even then you don’t pay us a penny out of your own pocket. We take our 7.5% commission (plus VAT) from the customer’s payment and securely transfer the rest into your chosen account on the Wednesday after the customer checks out.
We have worked very hard to make listing your holiday house with us as simple and as easy as possible. Read on and we will guide you through the process in these 10 easy steps:
Step 1 – Complete the short form on Owners Section of our website here: https://www.webcottages.co.uk/owners/ You just need to enter your name and email address, and create a password, to get started.
Step 2 – We will e-mail you a validation link. Click on this and log in to your dashboard.
Step 3 – Click ‘Add New Property’. Remember, you can list as many holiday homes as you like on Web Cottages – all for free.
Step 4 – Enter your Property Details. This is where you enter basic information about the holiday property, such as its name, address, number of bedrooms, changeover day, whether you accept pets etc.
Step 5 – Write a main description for your holiday cottage. This should be an overview of the property, highlighting all the main features and interesting places to visit nearby. Then tick the boxes for all the amenities you have in and around the property, such as a ‘By The Sea’ location, a hot tub, a cot and a high chair, a dishwasher etc.
Step 6 – If you need to, you can adjust the location of your property’s map pin on the map. This will tell the customer exactly where your holiday home is.
Step 7 – Add images. Few customers would book without seeing a holiday cottage first, so upload a good range of photos, showcasing the interior and exterior of the property. Don’t be afraid to include scenic photos of the surrounding area, particular if the property is near the coast or in the heart of the countryside.
Step 8 – Add price bands. How much do you want to charge throughout the year? It is simple to add flexible price bands for peak season in the summer, the quieter winter season and to set individual prices for popular weeks like Easter, Christmas and New Year. If you are unsure how much to charge, research other holiday letting websites and see how much other cottages of a similar bedroom size and in a similar location are charging. On this screen, you can also update your availability calendar to block off any weeks you already have booked at your holiday home. It is important to keep your availability calendar up-to-date with bookings you get from elsewhere, as customers may try to book an unavailable week on the Web Cottages site.
Step 9 – Enter your payment details and tell us where you would like customer payments to be transferred to. You will notice that you are using an encrypted https domain, so your details will be secure.
Step 10 – You are all finished! You can set the property live on the website, if you wish, or you can go back to the Dashboard where you can make further edits to your listing.
On the Dashboard screen, you can see a ‘Live Preview’ of how your property will look on the website. You can also make amendments to any aspect of your listing. You can add new amenities, upload more pictures, adjust your prices, update your availability calendar, keep track of the bookings we have got you, check the status of your payments and much more.
If you would like to add discounts on unsold weeks, particularly those that would qualify for a last minute break, there is even an option to add special offers.
