Situated in the heart of the village, this 17th century grade 2 listed stone cottage, formerley the local innkeepers residence, has been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard. Exuding immense charm and character and retaining many period features with exposed beams, wooden floors and open log fire, ideal for those cosy evenings in after a day exploring the dales, this is the ideal retreat for that romantic break or "get away from it all holiday".   All rooms have a nostalgic feel to them whilst having all "mod cons", original art and many quaint features are a particular feature of the property.   Set in an "Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty" and surrounded by unspoilt countryside and impressive waterfalls, the Northern Dales is a walkers paradise and has been described as one of Englands best kept secret. Frosterley has village shopping, steam railway and 2 pubs both serving meals (both very close to the cottage). There are some excellent country inns, tearooms and further shopping in nearby Stanhope and Wolsingham. Beamish Open Air Museum, Hadrians Wall, the ancient market towns of Barnard Castle and Hexham and the City of Durham with its World Heritage site of Durham Cathedral are all within easy reach. This is an excellent location for touring Northumberland, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.  Accommodation briefly comprises of cosy sitting room with stripped wooden floor, exposed beams and open log fire in the original surround.  Country style kitchen, well equipped with Belfast sink and custom made pine cupboards and shelves., dining area.  Utility room with automatic washer/dryer, iron and ironing board.  To the first floor there is a large double bedroom with feature stone fireplace and stripped wooden floor, bathroom with white suite, bath with hand held shower over, W.C. and washbasin.  Facilities include, gas central heating with combi boiler (constant hot water), gas cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster.  Colour TV with Video, radio and CD player.  Bed linen and towels included along with a starter pack of fuel for the open fire .  Selection of books, games and magazines.   Steps lead upto a lovely small cottage garden and patio area with table and chairs.  One well behaved pet welcome by prior arrangement.  Non smokers only please.
