Pinetum Park and Pine Lodge Gardens has over 6000 plants collected by Ray and Shirley Clemo on their travels around the world collecting seeds and plants. These remarkable grounds have an amphitheatre of conifers and pines and a Japanese garden and much more. Open all year round, dogs are welcome on a lead and it has a tearoom serving snacks.
Lanhydrock House in Bodmin is a wonderful country house and grounds, owned by the Robartes family. Follow in the foot steps of the past residents and view the fabulous book collection and incredible plasterwork. After a fire in 1881 the house was refurbished to a high quality Victorian standard, see how life was for the servants ‘below stairs’. Enjoy a Cornish afternoon tea or an oggie pasty in the restaurant.
Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Centre, has the largest collection of artefacts of this kind in Europe, with items from over 150 shipwrecks including the Mary Rose and new in 2012 the Titanic, collected over the last 50 years. For any children visiting the centre, there is an I Spy trail to keep them busy.
