Hastings House is a newly built, 5 bedroomed, 5 bathroomed house in the heart of North Sunderland, Seahouses. Close to all the village amenities, it has been constructed to the highest specification and uses quality fittings throughout. Designed for occupancy up to 10 in the five bedrooms we also provide a Zbed and 2 cots for use by youngsters.
On entering the house you are greeted by a spacious kitchen which leads through to the dining sun room where a capacious table seats up to 14 people. This room also has a log burning stove, and double doors leading out onto the patio area.
The downstairs area provides an exceptional space for entertaining, cooking, dining and just generally getting together. The dresser is full of table games like cards, shove hapenny, monopoly etc.
Upstairs is a place to relax in our stunning first floor lounge, with views south out to sea and down the coast to Beadnell and Dunstanburgh beyond. Slouch in the comfy sofas, again there is a log burning stove. Music centre and ipod dock, Computer broadband access with wireless router if you wish to connect your own laptop (access passwords required please apply on booking) and SKYPE phone. Large screen TV and Sky with full movies and sports package and DVD player. There are TVs in other rooms too.
Our 5 bedrooms are flexible each having a super king size bed which will split down to 2x 3 single divans. So whether you want the luxury of a 6 wide double or are a group looking for single beds or a mixture of both we can accommodate whatever sleeping configuration you desire.
With 2 first floor bedrooms (1 ensuite and a house bathroom) and 3 ground floor bedrooms (2 ensuite and a 2nd house bathroom) every bedroom has its own facilities. The downstairs bathroom and one of the ground floor ensuites provide easy access showers.
The house is centrally heated with underfloor heating and logs for the two fires are supplied.
The kitchen is well equipped with amongst other things (please see our website for full details). Electric range cooker, American Fridge Freezer, TWO dishwashers, Microwave, Toaster, large water boiler & kettle, food mixer, smoothie maker, ice cream machine. Infact, everything you need whether making a sandwich or a gourmet meal.
OUTSIDE
Our patio garden is ideal for taking advantage of sunny weather and outdoor entertaining. In the main the area is decorated with potted plants which have been selected to attract wildlife and insects. To the rear of the property is a secure area where children can play using our life size chequer board - made from coloured slabs, this is also ideal for adults to use for outside chess or marking up for hop-scotch or racing remote control toys.
To the secluded front walled garden is a barbeque area and for 2008 we plan to have our hot tub installed.
INDOOR GAMES ROOM
The area originally designed as a garage has been converted for use as an indoor games area, theres a foldaway table tennis table, music centre, and games console. Easy chairs and loads of toys & games. This is also the area where cycles can be stored. In inclement weather, wet weather gear can also be dried here and to the rear of the room is a small laundry area housing the washing machine/tumble drier.
WERE GREEN CLEAN AND ECO FRIENDLY.
The house is cleaned, and our linen is laundered with, eco-friendly products.
The house is powered by a green electricity supplier and we use low energy lighting. The hot water system is supplemented by our solar system, and rainwater is harvested to use for exterior cleaning and watering. Toilets use minimum water requirements and showers are provided in ensuites and bathrooms.
As a new build the house is insulated and double glazed to achieve up to the minute criteria.
All kitchen appliances are A rated or better.
We leave you eco-friendly products to use during your stay and our welcome grocery pack is stocked wherever possible with local produce, including when available eggs from our own free range organically reared chickens.
We encourage wildlife with our patio planting and provide many reference books which will be of interest to both adults and children keen to spot species of birds and rock pool inhabitants.

GENERALLY
The house is centrally situated, however, is on one of the quietest lanes in the village with stunning views over open country side to the East and South, so enjoying all day sunshine.
We provide a wonderful base from which to explore the local area and are well placed to access the coast, countryside, heritage and wildlife locations of Northumberland. From red squirrels to puffins, from orchids to the forest of Keilder from the Roman Wall, to castles aplenty, we have an abundance of natural and man made features to choose from.
We are only 20 minutes north of the beautiful new Alnwick Garden and the town's ancient castle, three miles from Bamburgh Castle, fifteen miles from Lindisfarne Holy Island.
11 Castles and 10 golf courses lie within an easy drive and boats leave from the harbour to explore the Farne Islands Bird Sanctuary and Grey Seal colony.
On the other hand you can just sit and watch the world go by, theres something for everyone. We are amongst the top 30 places to visit in the Lonely Planet guide and host the most tranquil spot in Britain, Officially the 2nd best View in Britain (we think it the best), and home of the flavoursome Kipper, Alnwick Rum and Bamburgh Banger......
