Granary Cottage at Trenchard Fm comfortably sleeps 4 but can accommodate up to 6 people.
A beautiful spacious but cosy character cottage with stunning views over the Taw Valley. It has been stylishly refurbished to provide 4 star accommodation. An ideal location to explore the gorgeous Devon countryside and coastline.
The cottage was once the grain store and engine house at Trenchard Farm and now provides superb accommodation, with its own garden and patio area. There is plenty of character with high beams, stonework, slate and wooden floors.
The cottage will sleep 4 people with the option of an extra 2 in the living area. It is set out on 3 levels, the main living area on the second floor, which is open plan but cosy including kitchen, dining area and lounge. The kitchen offers solid pine units with a marble work top, Belfast sinks and a stainless steal range cooker. It is very well equipped. The antique and solid hand-crafted furniture in the dining room and lounge add to the charm and tasteful ambience of this property.
The bathroom, shower room and twin bedroom are on the ground floor and on the top floor the double room with a comfortable king-size bed. Duvets, bed linen and towels are provided. TV & DVD player.
Excellent local restaurants and pubs. Fabulous forest and farm walks. Golf and local riding stable. Fly fishing beats on the River Taw, 1 beat on the farm and only a 5 minute walk away. Arranged walked up pheasant shooting in season. Local station is 1 mile from the cottage, enjoy the Tarka line, travelling by train on this scenic line to either Exeter (historical sites or new shopping mall) or Barnstaple (unique shopping and market town). Many local National Trust properties to visit in the area, such as Rosemoor Gardens nr Torrington, Castle Hill nr Barnstaple, Castle Drogo on the edge of Dartmoor. Local Agapanthus Specialist Nursery, 1/2 mile.
Guest Comments:
This our second visit and just as lovely as the first! A comfortable, restful and beautiful place to relax and enjoy! Thank you.
Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Great walks in the area. Lovely place to escape for the weekend. Thank you.
We have had an excellent time. Beautiful sunshine all week. Lovely cottage, ideally situated for exploring Dartmoor & Exmoor. Very peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed walks with Roxy and watching the red deer whilst eating breakfast.
Beautiful views - loved the wildlife - eapecially the lamb. Very enjoyable holiday
Our stay in your cottage was absolutely delightful. We were very impressed with the renovations you had done. It has so much character and a genuine homely feel. The kitchen is spacious and well kitted out. We were also surprised at how much there is to do in and around Eggesford. You can make this the sort of holiday you want, if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and slow down the pace, it is remote and quiet. However, there is also a good choice of leisure activities to choose from. Highlights for us were visiting Lynton and Lynmouth, Fly Fishing and the tour of the airfield.. Thank you Nigel and Jackie for your warm hospitality, we hope to return soon.
Thank you for a wonderful visit to this area. The cottage is welcoming, cosy and peaceful.
Beautiful cottage to celebrate our engagement: secluded but with a warm welcome. Loved cooking in the fantastic kitchen and meeting the various animals.
Had a most wonderful stay, beautiful area & walks.
Cottage blissful & so cosy.
WOW!
The views, the walking, location, hospitality, cottage. Such a relaxing break - we'll be back
