For anyone seeking to "get away from it all" this has to be your choice. Set back over a mile off the tarmac up a private hill road into the glen, you will be certain to find the peace you seek. The location is breath taking and the views panoramic. Your accommidation comprises of 2 bedrooms, bathroom with bath and power shower, modern kitchen with gas cooker and washing machine, living/dinning room with digital TV & DVD player & conservatory.

 Red & roe deer, grouse, white hare- these will be your neighbours for the duration of your stay, the kids can make all the noise they like and can even visit every schoolchilds' dream, the ruins of the glen school! If you enjoy the outdoor life then there are hill walks literally on the door step and an abundance of wildlife. Private fishing is available by arrangement. The Drovers Inn, serving excellent food both in the bar and restaraunt is a scant 10 mins away. Or if you prefer to visit places of interest then you are centrally placed for St Andrews, Aberdeen, Kirriemuir ( birth town of J.M. Barrie), Dundee and Perth.

 The whole house benefits from underfloor heating including the conservatory which leads out onto the raised stone patio. Heating is provided by solar water heating and a log burning stove with an automatic boiler providing back up so you will not be cold and electricity is generated by windmill and super-silent generator. Water is supplied by a spring fed well & through a filter for drinking. The log shed is kept well stocked and all fuel costs are included in the price as are all bed linen and towels so there are no hidden costs.

WE REGRET THAT DUE TO LONG-TERM HEALTH PROBLEMS IT HAS BECOME NECCISSARY TO CLOSE SHALLGREEN AS A HOLIDAY COTTAGE AS OF JANUARY 3rd 2009. FROM THAT DATE IT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO RENT.
