Ducktails is the middle of three cottages and has a pretty stream running in front of it, with a bridge for access. Ducktails has a lovely beamed sitting room with an Inglenook fireplace. This contains a woodburning stove, which makes it lovely and cosy in the winter. Plenty of logs are provided. There are also electric storage heaters both upstairs and downstairs.

Used by us as our own holiday and weekend cottage, Ducktails is furnished to a high standard and very well equipped. Everything in the cottage is new and the reclaimed pine furniture was made specially by a local craftsman. The whole cottage has been redecorated and recarpeted throughout. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare both cordon bleu meals and barbecues. It also has a full sized dishwasher. The bathroom, which is downstairs, has a wide bath with a shower above it. It also has a heater for those cold winter days.

The two bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed, large chest of drawers, wardrobe cupboard and bedside table. The twin bedroom has two single beds, a chest of drawers and bedside table.

To the rear of the cottage there is a fully enclosed garden , perfect for young children and dogs. It has a lawned area as well as a patio. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. The garden is very sheltered, totally private and a real sun trap.

South Creake is a delightful village. Just along the road is a large playing field with a new, safe children's playground. There are public tennis courts about 50m away and the local pub, which is well known in the area for its ambience, delicious food and local ales is a short walk away.It is easy to access local walks straight from the cottage, especially good for those who bring their dog. There is cycle hire available in South Creake itself.
Just along the road from the cottage (at Compton Hall Farm) is South Creake Fisheries, with fishing all year round from 7am until dusk. These  new fishing lakes offer Common/Mirror carp,Tench,Roach,Rud,Perch (Carp up to 26lbs). For information phone 01328 823999.

The area around South Creake has many high class restaurants and pubs to suit every taste.
About 10 minutes drive from the cottage is Burnham Market. This is a wonderful place to visit with lots of specialist shops and art galleries. There are many other lovely villages to visit such as Holt and Cley, each with its own character. The area really is a shopper's paradise with many specialist shops of all kinds.
There are many lovely countryside walks including  the Peddars Way.The area is also renowned for its birdwatching.
The famous shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, to which pilgrims come from all corners of the world, is nearby.
About 15 minutes drive away is the beautiful North West Norfolk coast. There are many beautiful, unspoilt, sandy beaches within easy reach, where dogs are welcome. For lovers of water sports there are  plenty of opportunities for sailing and other boating activities. There are also various boat trips available including seal-watching.
There are lots of activities to suit all age groups within easy driving distance for day trips. Some examples include Pensthorpe Wildlife Park, The High Ropes, Langham Glass, Letheringsett Flour Mill etc.

GUESTBOOK

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely cottage. I was keen to find somewhere cosy and homely so that we could simply curl up and read a book if we wanted.  The log fire clinched it and we loved it.  The cottage is so well equipped and well appointed.  We did go out every day and really like north Norfolk(particularly the coastal reserves and The Wash) but had some bitterly cold weather.  Despite this we were very warm in the cottage and it was a pleasure feeding the ducks outside and listening to the owls at night! The week gave us a complete rest. So many thanks - we have vowed to come back." - Sandy, April 2008

"A lovely "home from home" stay in Ducktails. Thank you." - Brenda, Steve & the Labs, September 2007

"Had a lovely time, the cottage is perfect! Thank you for a memorable holiday." - Pete & Sam, September 2007

"Ducktails is a welcoming, attractive and comfortable cottage in an excellent location. It is well equipped (particularly the kitchen), has a great-looking woodburning stove (which we didn't manage to use as it was August!) and a very pleasant garden. There are plenty of things to do in the immediate vicinity. We will be back!" - Ford family, August 2007

"We all had a lovely time staying in this wonderful cottage. We did have to move some of the ornaments out of reach of our 2 year old. Enjoyed the beautiful area very much. The Ostrich Inn was well worth the visit (lovely food and atmosphere). Thank you for a lovely stay." - Robinson family, July 2007

"We have just returned home at the end of a lovely week at Ducktails. Many thanks." - Leonard family, August 2006

"Ducktails Cottage is a very pretty, if bijou, property in a great location. As the parents of small children we appreciated the nearby new playground and visited the local pub, The Ostrich. A friendly pub with good food, but as with many of the pubs in North Norfolk, quite pricey. The cottage could have benefitted from a washing machine, but apart from that, met our expectations and our girls loved fishing in the little stream running outside the front door. The decor is of good quality throughout and loved much of the artwork. "  - Jane S, August 2006
