County Cork is another county with a huge amount of variety in the things that you can do. The area has a few old buildings worth visiting. A trip to Blarney Castle can give you the gift of the gab by kissing the famous Blarney Stone or a visit to Shandon Tower where you can climb to the top will offer the opportunity to ring the magnificent bells.

There are also a number of festivals which are worth timing your visit for dependent on your interests. There is the Cork Jazz Festival, the Folk Festival and also a Film Festival in the county. Other events that can be attended by visitors also includes the Gaelic Games such as the Gaelic football, hurling or road bowling.

If you enjoy sport then County Cork is another county where golf is hugely popular as there are a number of courses open to the public. The Beara Peninsula and Mizen Head have fabulous rock formations with hamlets set amongst them meaning that they are a great place to go hiking. The landscape can also be enjoyed in alternative ways as well with trails suitable for bicycles, horses available as well as off road cars.
