Bryn Hyfryd is a stone and slated country cottage, one of a terrace of 4 in a small hamlet in the beautiful Clun Valley. The cottage is believed to date from the 18th century and once formed part of the village pub. It has a small private rear garden from which there are lovely uninterrupted views of open countryside.
The cottage sleeps 6, with 2 double bedded rooms and 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds. The large kitchen and breakfast room has an electric cooker, microwave and spin drier. There is an open fireplace in the living room and this room leads to a conservatory. The bathroom and toilet are downstairs. Almost all the rooms are beamed and full of character. There are electric radiators in the bedrooms and an immersion heater for hot water. There are radios and a stereo music centre but no TV - a cupboard full of games and jigsaws more than compensates! Here you really can get away from it all.
There are duvets for the single beds and 1 double, and blankets for the other double, as well as plenty of pillows and patrchwork quilts. We do not supply bed linen, towels or tea towels.
There is a public telephone adjacent to the row of cottages. Our parking area (hardstanding for 2-3 cars) is on the opposite side of the road.
We regret we are unable to allow any pets at Bryn Hyfryd.
Details of local shopping facilities and restaurants are in the cottage, also maps of the area and information about local attractions and places to visit. Ludlow (about 10 miles away) hosts a renowned Music & Arts Festival each June/July for 2 weeks and has also become famous as the Gourmet Capital of England. The Food & Drink Festival takes place on the 2nd weekend of September. November sees the annual Medieval Festival and as with all other Ludlow events, the Castle is the focal point for most of the activities.
