This area has become very popular over recent years due to the Harry Potter series being filmed at Alnwick Castle. This medieval castle with its 14th century dungeon and walls is set in beautiful terraced gardens including a rose and ornamental garden. It has incredible views over the nearby countryside and has been the home of the Percy family for over 700 years.

Alnmouth, once an important port, until a large storm took place and changed the path that the river Aln. To this day you can see the wood cross which marks where the church became cut off by the river. The Bakehouse Gallery, once a working bakery, has a large selection of art from Northumbrian artists and is an engaging and inspiring gallery including sculptures and fossilised tree trunks.
Seahouses can be a very busy town with tourists during Peak Season, especially the colourful harbour with its diving boats, pleasure craft taking tourists to the Farne Island, the home of puffins, shags and terns. The main street has a good choice of pubs and restaurants, don’t forget the beach with its windswept dunes, perfect for walks with your family.
The pretty village of Bamburgh with its striking castle and home to the bamburgh banger has an assortment of restaurants and pubs and lovely sandy beach.
Craster is a small fishing village well known for its Craster kippers and small attractive harbour. Wonderful views of Dunstanburgh castle can been seen from here along the rocky shoreline or if you prefer a leisurely walk, you could follow the coastal path for a mile and a half and you will reach the castle. Make the most of these tranquil surrounding and enjoy a stay in this charming village.
The rural hillside village of Longframlington positioned between the Cheviots and the coast offers many walking opportunities in the local countryside or coast which is just 15 minutes away by car.
