Follow In The Footsteps Of The Movie Stars

Have you ever wondered where all the scenes from your favourite films have been shot?

We have chosen a selection of beautiful cottages close to the locations of our movies below so why not visit these fantastic areas, then watch the films from the comfort of a cottage so you can really feel part of the movie, it's certainly something to tell your friends and family when you get home.

This is our list of favourite movies filmed in the UK, Ireland and France.

1. Alnwick Castle is featured as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the first two Harry Potter films. Experience Hogwarts by visiting Northumbria and Alnwick Castle from our lovely Sea View Lodge (Ref.782)  - 15 minutes from the castle.

2. Tomb Raider starring the newlywed Angelina Jolie was filmed in the beautiful North of Wales. Look at the Ysgubor (Ref.13058) what a great base to explore, and if you're looking for thrilling experiences how about Zip World, Rib ride or Bounce Below - definitely not for the faint hearted.

3. Little Voice is now a stage production, but the movie was set in Scarborough filmed in the Autumn of 1997, Everley Cottage (Ref.11460) would be perfect to visit at this time of year.

4. Stardust is a magical feel good family film, and some scenes were filmed in Norwich. How about visiting the area and staying at Foxley Lodge (Ref.11935)

5. PS. I Love you was one of the most romantic films ever to be set in County Wicklow, Ireland. We found a lovely cottage to explore the area called River Run Cottage (Ref.15744)

6. Do you fancy yourself a 007? Die Another Day had scenes filmed in Holywell Bay, Cornwall. Consider a stay at the lovely Gramerci (Ref.10611) maybe even stop for a vodka martini at The Smugglers Den Inn, do you like it shaken or stirred?

7. Braveheart, one of the most memorable films set in Scotland, when William Wallace fights for freedom. Visit Fort William whilst staying at the wonderful Acorn Lodge (Ref.10114)

8. Miss Potter had a lot of the scenes filmed at Yew tree Farm, in Coniston, Lake District. Here is a beautiful property in Coniston called Tanderra (Ref 15211) where you can stay and visit the Beatrix Potter Visitor Centre.
